Bears Earn First Win, 8-1, Over Amherst

Providence, Rhode Island - The 10th ranked Brown women's squash team earned its first win of the season with solid 8-1 victory over Amherst Tuesday evening.
Senior Charlotte Steel set the tone for the day against the Lord Jeffs with a 3-0 win at number one, allowing just five points all day in the 9-5, 9-0, 9-0 victory. At number three, sophomore Sophie Scherl earned a hard fought 3-1 victory, while at number four, junior Kali Schellenberg cruised to a 3-0 victory.
The remainder of the Bears lineup had an easy time, with freshman Nikoo Fadaifard, sophomore Carolyn Tilney, junior Sarah Roberts, senior Charlotte MacMillan and sophomore Leila Driansky each taking 3-0 decisions.
The Bears will be back in action again on Saturday, hosting Bowdoin at the Pizzitola Sports Center, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
