Softball Ends Fall Season 3-2 at URI Tournament

The Brown softball team played in a tournament at the University of Rhode Island this weekend, coming away with two victories and no losses. This completes the fall season for the Bears, who finish with a 3-2 record.

In the first game on Saturday, Brown faced Providence College and captured a 3-1 defeat of the Friars after some key hitting and a well-pitched game by Erin Durlesser (Santa Monica, CA). Both Julie Iudicello (McLean, VA) and Tami Parrott (Wantage, NJ) went 2-4 at the plate, combining for all three of Brown's RBI. Durlesser pitched a complete game, striking out five en route to the win.

In the second game, Bruno faced host University of Rhode Island, with Parrott leading the way for her team. She was 2-3 at the plate and hit a three-run homerun, notching three of Brown's four RBI in the game. Lauren Wong (Mountain View, CA) got the scoring started for the Bears, however, when she got a hit and drove in the first run for the team. Aleana Sutton (West Hartford, CT) pitched in the winning effort.

The softball team, having finished the fall season, has no more competition until early March, when they begin the spring season with a game against Syracuse.
