Bears Earn All-Ivy Softball Honors

Providence, RI - Brown senior Kelsey Wilson (Monterey, CA), and rookies Jackie Giovanniello (Floral Park, NY) and Kate Strobel (Denver, CO) earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy accolades as announced by the Ivy League. Wilson was a first base Honorable Mention selection, while Giovanniello and Strobel were Honorable Mention utility players.

Wilson, a three-time Honorable Mention All-Ivy selection, led the Brown University softball team (12-26, 5-15) with a team-high 12 doubles and 25 RBI for a .333 batting average. Her 12 doubles this past season ranked fifth in the Ivy League, while she also ranked 10th in on base percentage (.417). In her four-year career, Wilson has played and started in 143 games, while batting .303. She combined for 125 hits, 31 doubles, 59 runs and 66 RBI, and was a team captain during her junior year.

Giovanniello saw time at both third base and in the outfield this season and batted .304 from the plate for the Bears. In 33 games, she combined for 28 hits, 17 RBI and six runs. Strobel, who played third base and was also a designated player, was Brown's top offensive threat, leading the team with a .351 batting average along with team-highs of 40 hits, 22 runs and five homeruns. She also chipped in with 22 RBI and 10 doubles, and ranked 10th in batting average in the Ivy League.
