Bears Win UMBC Tournament With 7-3 Win Over Niagara

Baltimore, MD - Behind the bats of senior Mary Seid and freshman Kelsey Wilson, the Bears handed Niagara a 7-3 loss, winning the UMBC Tournament. Brown tallied a season high 16 hits in the win.

Seid and Wilson each finished going 3-5, as Seid tallied a RBI while Wilson hit two doubles and crossed the pate twice. Sophomore Linnea Anderson and freshmen Kaitlyn Laabs and Ava Amini each finished the contest 2-4. Junior Melissa Ota was also a force at the plate going 2-2 and drawing a walk.

Freshman Heather Garrison recorded the win on the mound fanning seven batters in seven innings of work.

The Bears will return to action Tuesday March 28, when they take on Maryland for a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader at College Park, MD.
