Norfolk, VA - The Bears opened up the day with a 7-3 win over George Mason, but fell to Niagara 3-2 in the second day of the Virginia Beach Tournament. Senior Mary Seid led the Brown offense finishing the day 5-7, crossing the plate four times for Brown.
In the win against George Mason, freshman Michelle Moses recorded the win allowing four hits and fanned five batters in her seven innings of work. Seid finished the game with three runs scored, going 2-4. Freshman Ava Amini went 3-3 and crossed the plate once for Brown.
In the 3-2 loss to Niagara freshman Heather Garrison got the loss on the mound pitching a complete seven inning game. With a walk and going 3-3 Seid was a force at the plate, also scoring a run while, sophomore Linnea Anderson and junior Melissa Ota finished the game 1-2.
Brown will wrap up the weekend with a 9:00 a.m. match-up with James Madison tomorrow.
