Charleston, SC - The softball team (2-3) finished the second day of the Charleston Southern Tournament falling to Furman 13-4, and Northern Colorado 8-1, but beat Vermont in the final game of the day 5-4.
In the loss to Furman sophomore Linnea Anderson went 1-2 and tallied an RBI while freshman Ava Amini also went 1-2 and had a run scored. Senior Mary Seid also recorded an RBI while freshman Kelsey Wilson finished the game going 1-3 and tallied a run for Brown.
Brown's lone run in the loss to Northern Colorado came in on a sacrifice fly off the bat of freshman Kaitlyn Laabs bringing in junior Melissa Ota. Laabs went 2-2 while Ota Amini and freshman Kari Best all went 1-3.
Anderson tallied the walk off game winning homerun to break the 4-4 tie, giving Brown the 5-4 win. Sophomore Amy Baxter hit her first homerun of the season bringing in three Brown runs. Best posted two walks while Seid and Laabs went 1-3.
Brown will close out the Tournament with a 9:00 AM match-up with Furham tomorrow morning.
