Megan Lamoureux, a former standout catcher at Marist College, enters her fourth season with the Brown softball program in 2016-17 having joined the team as an assistant coach in January of 2014.

In 2016, Lamoureux coached a quartet of All-Ivy honorees as Yeram Park ’18, Christina Andrews ’17, Sarah Syrop ’17, and Janet Leung ’16 all earned the accolades. The Bears swept a doubleheader from Cornell for the first time since the year 2000, earned a 5-1 win in extra innings over Penn, and claimed a 9-1 victory over league champion Princeton on their way to a 5-3 mark against the Ivy League’s South Division.

Lamoureux mentored four All-Ivy performers in 2015 in Leung, Syrop, Katie Orona ’18, and Leah Nakashima ’17. In Ivy play, Lamoureux helped the Bears pick up two wins over eventual South Division champion, Penn, and one win each against Ivy champion Dartmouth and Harvard.

In 2014, Lamoureux helped coached a pair of Second Team All-Ivy selections in Andrews and Leung. She helped guide Nakashima who hurled the Bears to a 3-1 victory over Dartmouth, the eventual Ivy League champions.

A two-time Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference catcher, Lamoureux served as a captain for the Red Foxes and was a member of the Female Athlete Empowerment Program. Her name appears in the Marist record books in several categories, including sixth in single-season runs (37), ninth in single-season batting average (.367) and eighth in career home runs (13).

With the Rhode Island Thunder – one of the Northeast’s top fastpitch travel organizations – she worked with the catchers and infielders while helping call pitches during games from 2012-13.

"Megan's passion for the game and competitiveness really impressed me in the interview process," head coach Katie Flynn said on her hire. "She had a tremendous career at Marist and excellent experience over the past two years with the Rhode Island Thunder organization."

Lamoureux graduated from Marist in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology.
