PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND - Freshman pitcher Sarah Ropiak (Acton, MA) earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors after spending an impressive weekend on the mound for the Bears. In Saturday's 3-1 win over Lafayette, she had another impressive outing for the Bears, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and receiving her second win of the season. Ropiak pitched six scoreless innings, giving up five hits, striking out one batter and walking none.
Finally, in Brown's last game of the weekend, a 3-2 win over Morgan State, Ropiak relieved sophomore Jessica Cherness (Torrance, CA) on the mound in the seventh inning, earning her first save when she allowed one run on one hit and struck out two batters.
The Bears will take a weekend off before traveling to Dover, Delaware to participate in the Delaware State Tournament from March 22nd to March 24th.
