Providence, RI- Brown University junior Stephanie Thompson (Chino, CA) had an impressive week for the Brown softball team at the UC Riverside Tournament to earn Ivy League Player of the Week honors.
In five games over the weekend, Thompson batted .667 with 12 hits in 18 at-bats, including a double, a triple, and a homerun on the week. She added five RBI and four runs scored and did not strike out in the five games. Thompson last received Ivy League Player of the Week honors on March 15, 2011.
Thompson carries a five-game hitting streak into the start of the Ivy League season this weekend. She currently leads Brown with a .477 batting average, and is also the team leader in hits (21), RBI (12), doubles (4) and triples (1). Brown will take on Penn on Friday, March 30 and Columbia on Saturday, March 31.
