Providence, RI-Brown University sophomore third baseman Stephanie Thompson (Chino, CA) had four outstanding performances to help lead the softball team to a 3-1 weekend at the UMBC Dawg Pound Invitational. Thompson batted an impressive .769 for the weekend, had three homeruns, a double, and six runs scored to be named to the All-Tournament Team and the Ivy League's Player of the Week.
On the first day of the tournament, Thompson went 3-for-5 from the plate. The following day, she led Brown to wins over Coppin State and Niagara with a 7-for-8 performance, which included five runs scored, seven RBI and three home runs. In Brown's 4-1 win over Niagara, Thompson drove in all four runs with a pair of home runs.
She batted an impressive .769 for the weekend, had three home runs, a double and six runs scored. She is Brown's first Ivy League Player of the week since March 16, 2010 when Katie Rothamel '10 earned the honor.
