Softball Earns NFCA Honors for Academic Excellence

Providence, RI- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced the girls got game Top Ten All-Academic Teams, based on GPAs submitted for the 2008-09 school year. Through this program, the NFCA honors high school and collegiate softball teams for their success in the classroom. The Bears ranked eighth out of the 10 schools honored with a 3.462.

The NFCA also recognized student-athletes for achieving a 3.5 GPA or higher. Brown had nine individuals recognized: Emily Chaddock (3.5), Danielle Comissiong (3.5), Jessica Iwasaki (4.0), Alexandra Kolbe (3.5) Sandra Mastrangelo (3.66), Michelle Moses (4.0), Lindsay Rice (3.62), Joanna Schimmel (4.0) and Kelsey Wilson (3.85).
