Brown senior Kim LaVere (Chatsworth, CA), of the Brown Women's Soccer Team has been named a Second Team District I CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Americans in women's soccer. The team is selected by voting members of the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). She is concentrating in Public & Private Sector Organizations and has a 3.74 GPA.
LaVere played and started in 15 of the team's 16 games this season, finishing tied for second on the team with nine points (3g, 3a), including leading the Bears with two game-winning goals. A 2004 First Team All-Ivy honoree, LaVere was also named Second Team SoccerBuzz Northeast All-Region last season, as well as Honorable Mention All-Ivy and SoccerBuzz Northeast Region All-Rookie in 2002. She was named Ivy League Player of the Week earlier this season, after scoring the game-winning goal against Princeton, Brown's first victory over the Tigers since 1997. LaVere has played in 60 career games, earning 59 starts, and has posted 5-7-17 numbers during her career. During her four years as the starting sweeper for the Bears, Brown has posted 19 shutouts.
