PROVIDENCE, RI - For the second week in a row, a Brown player has been honored by the Ivy League as freshman forward Sylvia Stone (Bronx, NY) was named Ivy League co-Rookie of the Week. She shares the honor with Harvard's Katherine Sheeleigh.
Stone was instrumental in helping lead Brown to a 4-0 win at Cornell with two of the Bears' four goals. Stone scored her first career goal in the 31st minute to give Brown a 1-0 lead, which it would not relinquish. In a three-goal second half for the Bears, Stone added her second of the game with less than four minutes remaining when she scored off a corner kick. The four-goal outburst was a season-high for Brown, while Stone became the first member of this year's team to have a multiple-goal game.
Junior Lindsay Cunningham (Cumberland, RI) was named to the honor roll after posting two assists in the victory, including the pass that led to Stone's game-winner. With 11 career assists, Cunningham now stands in 14th all-time at Brown for assists in a career, while her 37 career points in 18th all-time.
Brown returns home this Wednesday, October 24th, when it hosts Sacred Heart in its final non-league game of the season at 7:00 p.m. The game video and audio will be streamed live over the internet.
