Women's Soccer Falls to Penn, 2-1

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's soccer team (9-4-2, 3-3) dropped its final home game of the 2003 season, falling to visiting Penn (8-5-3, 2-3-1) by a 2-1 score.
Freshman leading scorer Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN) gave Brown a 1-0 lead with her sixth goal in three games at 28:38. She received a pass from senior Michaela Sewall (Newton, MA), who notched her 15th career assist, and fired the ball into the back of the net for the early lead.
However, Penn responded less than 10 minutes later at 37:08 and knotted the contest at 1-1. The Quakers netted the game-winning goal with just 37 seconds remaining in the first half. Neither team was able to convert in the second half and the game ended 2-1 in favor of Penn.
In net for Brown, senior Sarah Gervais (Harrisville, RI) stopped four shots. The Bears continue action on Saturday, November 8, in their final game of the season at Yale.
