CAMBRIDGE, MA - Junior Jamie Mize (Washington, DC) scored her second goal of the year just 31 seconds into the second half to lead the Brown women's soccer team (3-7-1, 1-2) to a 1-0 victory over Harvard (8-4-1, 1-2) on Saturday afternoon, while handing the Crimson their first home loss of the season.
Harvard outshot Brown, 24-8, but was unable to put one past sophomore Steffi Yellin (Savannah, GA), who finished with 10 saves, including a couple of spectacular stops where she punched the ball up over the crossbar.
Mize's game-winner came on a scramble in front of the Harvard net. After Lauren Mann came out to play the ball on a cross, the ball took a high bounce, which got past the Crimson goalie and Mize was there to knock it in for the only score of the game.
The Bears return home to Stevenson Field to host in-state rival URI on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. B2 Networks will provide the live stream of the game audio and video.
