STORRS, CT - The Brown University women's soccer team (4-7) continues its struggles away from Stevenson Field as the University of Connecticut (10-5) earned a 2-0 shutout over the Bears on Wednesday afternoon at Morrone Stadium.
The game was scoreless in the first half with UConn out-shooting Brown 9-2. The Huskies got on the board at the 54:13 mark and then added their second goal of the night at 70:51.
The best scoring chance for Brown came with 30 minutes remaining in the game as freshman Susie Keller (Cincinnati, OH) put a shot on that was saved by UConn's diving keeper. Keller then tried to score on the rebound, butConnecticut's goalie knocked the ball down while still on the ground to keep Brown off the board.
In net for Brown, junior Hilary Wilson (Monterey, CA) recorded six saves. The Bears continue action on Saturday when they host Harvard in a 7:00 pm Ivy League contest.
