PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown University (4-4, 1-1) women's soccer team battled Columbia (5-4, 0-2) for 90:00 on Friday evening, coming away with a 4-2 win in the Ivy League contest, while remaining perfect (4-0) at Stevenson Field. In what was a rare occurrence, the two team's combined for the six goals in a span of 21:20.

After an entire half of scoreless action, junior Meghan Schreck (Hudson, MA) gave the Bears a 1-0 lead at 57:59. The Brown offense put together a quick string of passes before the ball stopped at the feet of sophomore Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN). Moos one-touched the ball to senior Kim Hagner (San Francisco, CA), who was outside the 18 on the right side of the box. Hagner served a high cross in front of the goal-mouth and Schreck headed the ball past Columbia's Erissa Aronson for the 1-0 lead.

Nearly 12 minutes later, the Lions snuck the ball past Brown's Hillary Wilson (Monterey, CA) at 68:43, tying the game at 1-1. However, Moos made sure the game did not remain tied for long. Just 1:04 after Columbia tied the contest, Moos netted her second goal of the season to give the Bears a 2-1 lead. From before the 50, sophomore Jill Mansfield (East Windsor, NJ) served a flip-throw onto the field directly to Moos. Moos beat two defenders and dribbled into the box, before sending the ball into the near side of the net.

The Brown lead would not last for long, as Columbia again tied the game, this time exactly two minutes later. However, sophomore Christine Serdjenian (Waterville, ME) gave Bruno the lead for good with 13:52 remaining in the game. The ball bounced off a Columbia defender out to Serdjenian, who was 30 yards out. Serdjenian lofted the ball over Aronson's head and into the back of the net for the 3-2 Brown lead.

Moos scored her second goal of the contest just 3:21 later, capping the scoring for Brown. Moos controlled the ball near the 50, beating her defender, before dishing the ball to freshman Anne Friedland (Toronto, ONT) at the top of the box. Friedland lifted the ball over the defense to Moos, who sent the ball into the opposite corner.

In net, Wilson stopped six shots for the Bears, who continue action on Wednesay, October 6, when they travel Boston for a 4:00 p.m. contest at Boston College, which is ranked #6 in the Northeast Region.
