Bears Fall to Wake Forest, 2-0

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Wake Forest (4-3-1) scored two first half goals and held the Bears to just two shots in the game to earn a 2-0 victory over the Brown women's soccer team (0-4-1) on Friday evening at Spry Stadium.
The Bears' defense played a strong game, limiting the Demon Deacons to just seven shots on net, but Wake was able to score on two long-range shots for the victory. The first from about 20 yards out came at 5:08 and the second was scored from about 15 yards out at 32:40.
Sophomore Steffi Yellin (Savannah, GA) stopped five shots in net, all five of which came in the first half as Brown's defense limited the Demon Deacons to just two shots in the second stanza.
Junior Lindsay Cunningham (Cumberland, RI) had the Bears' only shot on goal, while sophomore Paige Reidy (Honeoye Falls, NY) fired the other Brown shot. For the game, Brown held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Bruno returns to Providence for a non-league game on Tuesday evening against Maine before opening Ivy competition next Friday night at Columbia.
