Women's Soccer Posts Fifth Shutout of the Season with 2-0 Win Over UNH

DURHAM, NH - Seniors Julie Herrold (La Crescenta, CA) and Kristin Ferrell (Concord, CA) scored first-half goals and senior Sarah Gervais (Harrisville, RI) made eight saves to lead the Brown University women's soccer team (4-1-2) to Saturday night's 2-0 victory against the University of New Hampshire at Bremner Field.

The Bears took a 1-0 lead on Herrold's goal in the 22nd minute. Her initial lofted shot from 18 yards was knocked down by the UNH goalkeeper at the goalmouth, but Herrold followed up her shot and tapped the loose ball into the net.

Bruno took a 2-0 lead at 29:25 when Tory Manchester set up a blast by Kristin Ferrell.

Brown returns to action at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, when it hosts Dartmouth in its Ivy League opener at Stevenson Field.
