Mullin Named Brown's RIAIAW Distinguished Student-Athlete of the Year

WARWICK, R.I. – Alison Mullin, a senior on the women's soccer team, was named Brown's RIAIAW (Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women) Distinguished Student-Athlete of the Year.  The RIAIAW honors one student-athlete from each of Rhode Island's nine schools based upon athletic excellence, academic success, and leadership qualities.

Over 67 career games at Brown, the Boulder, Colorado native proved to be a mainstay in the Bears' backfield, while showing a willingness to play multiple positions for the good of the team.  Mullin's tenacious defense during her tenure paid dividends for the Bears, as the team recorded 26 shutouts during that four-year span. Often described as a quiet leader, Mullin led by example with her commitment, energy, passion, and focus on being the best ambassador for Brown women's soccer.

A two-time Academic All-Ivy selection and a two-time CoSIDA/Capital One First Team Academic All-District honoree, Mullin became only the third member of the women's soccer program to earn those distinctions multiple times.  In her senior season, she served as Co-President of the Brown Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
