PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown University senior back Allison Kagawa (Mililani, HI) has been named to the NSCAA Division I All-Region Team in an announcement made by the organization. The Bears' first all-region selection since Jill Mansfield '07 (third team) and Kathryn Moos '07 (first team) in 2006, Kagawa was named Third Team All-Mid-Atlantic. She was one of six Ivy Leaguers selected, joining three from Penn and one each from Harvard and Yale.
A Unanimous First Team All-Ivy honoree in 2011, Kagawa earned First Team All-Ivy honors for the second straight year after earning Honorable Mention All-Ivy in 2009. Kagawa was also named First Team All-NEWISA this season. One of just two unanimous First Team All-Ivy selections this season, Kagawa helped the Bears post seven shutouts, which was tied for second in the Ivy League, while allowing just 14 goals in 17 games, also second in the League. For the season, Brown's defense posted a 0.80 team GAA, a mark that currently ranks 42nd in the country. Kagawa started all 66 games during her four-year career, rarely coming off the field, and also posted two assists this season, matching a career high.
