Three Women's Laxers Earn IWLCA Academic Honor Roll Recognition

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown University women's lacrosse team was honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association for its academic success, posting a team GPA greater than 3.00. In addition, three athletes were recognized for their individual accomplishments, earning Academic Honor Roll honors with a GPA that is greater than 3.00.
As a team, the Bears were one of four Ivy League Schools represented, with Dartmouth, Harvard, and Princeton also earning team recognition. In addition, with three members of the team earning individual recognition, Brown had the second-highest number of athletes represented among the seven represented Ivy League schools.
Earning honors for Brown were juniors Debbie Mendel (West Newton, MA), who is concentrating in environmental studies, and Katie Russell (San Francisco, CA), who is a pre-med major. Senior Bekah Rottenberg (Colrain, MA), who graduated in May with a degree in environmental studies, also earned a spot on the academic honor roll, and leaves her name etched in the Brown record books with 122 points, seventh all-time at Brown, and 98 goals, sixth in Brown history.
