PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown sophomore Amie Biros (Bethesda, MD) of the Brown women's lacrosse team was selected to the US Developmental Team in a two-day tryout held at Loyola College, June 11-12. The team is coached by Sue Murphy and includes collegiate players from Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, James Madison, Johns Hopkins, Maryland, New Hampshire, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Princeton, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Yale, along with Biros.
An honorable mention All-Ivy selection this past season, Biros finished the year as the Bears' leading scorer with 35 points (27g, 8a). She shared the team lead in goals, and led Brown with eight assists. She also picked up 30 ground balls, third on the team, and earned 29 draw controls, second on the team. Biros played her best during the Ivy season with 18 goals, seven assists, and 25 points in Ivy games, ranking fifth in goals, fifth in assists, and third in points in League games only. Biros also earned Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors after a four-goal, one-assist performance, including the game-winning goal, in Brown's 12-11 win over Columbia.
