Anneberg and Rottenberg Named Regional IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Americans

PROVIDENCE, RI - Senior tri-captain Bekah Rottenberg (Colrain, MA) and junior Christine Anneberg (Denver, CO) of the Brown women's lacrosse team were selected as 2003 IWLCA/US Lacrosse Northeast Regional All-Americans as selected by the vote of the Regional All-American Committee. Rottenberg earned a nod on the First Team, while Anneberg was a Second Team selection for the second straight year.

The leading scorer for the Bears, Rottenberg was also a unanimous selection to the First Team All-Ivy squad. A three-time All-Ivy honoree during her career, earning Second Team recognition in both 2001 and 2002, Rottenberg led Brown in nearly every scoring category with 27 goals, 14 assists and 41 points. She finishes her Brown career with 122 points, which ranks 7th all-time at Brown, 98 goals, which is 6th all-time at Brown, and 24 assists. She also led the team with 45 draw controls and 44 ground balls, and was second on the team with 16 caused turnovers. She notched at least one point in 13 of 14 games, and at least two points in 10 games, including six points against Dartmouth, and five points against Holy Cross, Cornell, and Pennsylvania.

A Second Team All-Ivy selection a year ago, Anneberg earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy recognition this season. She finished as the second-leading scorer on the team with 30 points (22g, 8a), increasing her career numbers at Brown to 53 goals, 18 assists, and 71 points, and was second on the team with 23 draw controls, finishing sixth on the team with 22 ground balls. In addition, she tallied seven caused turnovers. A natural athlete, Anneberg tallied at least one point in 13 of Brown's 14 games, with at least two points in nine games, including four points against Boston College and six three-point games.

The Bears finished the 2003 season with a 5-9 record and a 3-4 mark in Ivy League games.
