PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's lacrosse team (4-11, 1-6) closed out its Ivy League schedule on Saturday afternoon against the 14th-ranked Princeton Tigers. Princeton (10-5, 6-1) used a 4-0 run early in the second half to open up the game and post a 14-6 win over the Bears, earning a share of the 2006 Ivy League Title with Cornell, which also finished the Ivy season with a 6-1 record.
The Tigers scored two straight goals 3:20 apart to take a 2-0 lead before junior Amie Biros (Bethesda, MD) scored an unassisted goal for the Bears with 19:47 remaining in the first half, bringing Brown to within one.

Princeton opened the second half just as it did the first, scoring two quick goals, before senior Kate Staley (Needham, MA) deposited a free position goal with 27:04 left to play for an 8-4 Princeton score. Following Staley's goal, the Tigers reeled off four unanswered goals in a span of 2:47 to break the game open and take a 12-4 lead with just over 22:00 left to play.
Freshman Bethany Buzzell (Middletown, MD) scored Brown's final two goals, trading scores with Anne Murray of Princeton and Miller, who led all goal scorers with six goals. Biros led the Bears with three goals and an assist.
Sophomore Melissa King (Pepper Pike, OH) recorded 18 saves in net for the Bears, including 10 in the second half.
