PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Brown women's lacrosse team (6-6, 2-4) dropped its second straight game on Sunday afternoon, falling to the University of Pennsylvania, 17-11, in an Ivy League contest.

Senior Laurel Pierpont (Jacksonville, FL) led the Bears with four goals, while sophomore Kate Staley (Needham, MA) and freshman Amie Biros (Bethesda, MD) each added two goals.

Also scoring for Brown was senior Katie Russell (San Francisco, CA), junior Sarah Passano (Baltimore, MD), and sophomore Ashley Holden (Alexandria, VA). Senior Christine Anneberg (Denver, CO), and freshmen Julie Clingan (Summit, NJ) and Lydia Denkler (Alexandria, VA) each posted one assist.

Junior Julia Southard (Manhasset, NY) stopped six shots, while allowing seven goals, in 35:00 of action, while sophomore Jessica McNell (Darien, CT) made four saves, while allowing 10 goals, in 25:00 of action.

The Bears continue action on Wednesday, April 28, when they host the University of Connecticut in a 7:00 p.m. non-league contest.
