Women's Laxers Snap Two-Game Losing Streak With 12-7 Win Over Stanford

NASHVILLE, TN - The women's lacrosse team continued action at Vanderbilt and defeated Stanford, 12-7, while snapping a two-game losing streak.
Sophomore Christine Anneberg (Denver, CO) led the Bears with four goals and two assists, while classmate Meredith Goodell (Baltimore, MD) added two goals and two assists. Junior Bekah Rottenberg (Colrain, MA) and sophomore Katie Russell (San Francisco, CA) each scored twice, while junior Jocelyn Moore (Washington, DC) tallied one goal and one assist. Sophomore Laurel Pierpont (Jacksonville, FL) and, along with Rottenberg, has tallied at least a point in all four games.
Sophomore Deb Mendel (West Newton, MA) led the Brown defense with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. In net, senior Niki Caggiano (Freeport, NY) made eight saves and junior Randi Macdonald (Baltimore, MD) made five saves.
Brown, 2-2, continues action on Saturday when the Bears open Ivy League competition against Dartmouth at 3:00 p.m. at Stevenson Field.
