PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown women's lacrosse senior, Danielle Mastro (Endicott, N.Y.), has been tabbed as Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week in an announcement made by the league on Monday. Mastro and Cornell's Lindsay Toppe share the honors after their stellar performances over the weekend.
Mastro's four goal, two assist effort helped the Bears topple #16 Princeton, 14-13, in overtime on Saturday. She got the helper on teammate Bre Hudgins' game-winning marker with just 32 seconds to play in overtime to propel the Bears to a 4-0 start. For the season, Mastro leads the Bears with 16 points (10g, 6a) and has two, four-goal games to her credit in 2013-14.
The Offensive Player of the Week accolade is the first for the Bears since Grace Healy (Bellport, N.Y.) garnered the recognition on April 8, 2013.
Mastro and the Bears will return to action on Tuesday with a road tilt at Holy Cross before hosting Central Connecticut State on Saturday at Stevenson Field.
