Healy Named Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI – Brown junior Grace Healy (Bellport, NY) was named Ivy League co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 7th. Healy was instrumental in helping lead Brown to a 2-0 week with wins over Harvard, 15-9, and Bryant (12-9). The Bears are off to a 9-2 record this spring, and are guaranteed a winning season for the first time since 1999. For the week, Healy notched six points (4g, 2a), 13 draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball.

In Saturday's Ivy League win over the Crimson, Healy finished with two points (1g, 1a) as well as five draw controls. Less than 24 hours later, Healy led Brown against Bryant with three goals and an assist to go along with eight draw controls. Two of Healy's goals came at critical momentum swings for Brown, as she twice helped the Bears gain a two-goal lead after Bryant had come to within a goal during the final 30 minutes. Healy, who ranks 18th in the nation with 4.36 draw controls per game, earned five of her eight draw controls against the Bulldogs in the second half.

Healy and the rest of the Bears continue action on Friday, April 12, when they travel to Ithaca, New York to face Cornell in a 4:00 p.m. Ivy contest.
