McGilloway and Roos Named All-Ivy

PROVIDENCE, RI – Brown senior Kaela McGilloway (Sea Cliff, NY) and sophomore Erin Roos (Wilmette, IL) have been named Second Team All-Ivy in a vote by the eight Ivy League women's lacrosse coaches, announced by the League Wednesday afternoon. For McGilloway, it marks her third consecutive appearance on the Second Team, while Roos earned All-Ivy honors for the first time in her career. Roos was one of only two sophomores to earn a spot on either the First or Second Team, joining Dartmouth sophomore goalie Kristen Giovanniello. The remaining 20 First and Second Team honorees were all juniors and seniors.

The Bears' leading scorer with 47 points (12th all-time at Brown for points in a season), McGilloway shared the team lead with 24 goals and had a team-high 23 assists (fifth all-time at Brown for assists in a season). The senior attacker also contributed 11 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. McGilloway ranked 3rd overall in the Ivy League with 1.64 assists per game and was sixth in the Ancient Eight with 3.36 points per game. In Ivy games only, McGilloway was sixth with 1.00 assists per game. McGilloway finished her Brown career ranked second all-time for career points (177), second all time for career goals (107), and third all-time for career assists (70).


Roos was the Bears' top defender this season, leading Brown with 21 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers (12th all-time at Brown for caused turnovers in a season). She also pitched in 18 draw controls, third on the team, and scored one goal. Roos was third in the Ivy League with 1.50 caused turnovers per game and second in League games only with 1.71 caused turnovers per game.
