Brown Women's Ice Hockey Readies for Big Non-Conference Clash

Brown: Brown enters Saturday's contest at 3-1-0 on the season, with the team's only loss coming to #2 Dartmouth last Friday night. Junior Courtney Johnson and freshman Jess Link lead the team in points. Johnson has recorded six assists on the season, while Link has found the back of the net four times, and tallied 2 assists. The goaltending for the Bears has been outstanding, as junior Pam Dreyer posts a .909 save percentage and sophomore Katie Germain maintains a 1.00 save percentage with 2 shutouts. The Bears are currently 2nd in the ECAC and 3rd in the latest national poll.


The Gophers stand at 6-2-2 overall. Senior Laura Slominski leads Minnesota in points, totaling, 4-7-11 on the season. Slominski recorded her fourth career hat trick in the Gophers 9-0 win against Bemidji State on November 11. Minnesota is currently ranked 1st in the WCHA poll, while holding a #8 national ranking.

Brown will host #1 ranked and defending national champions Minnesota-Duluth on Sunday November 18 at Meehan Auditorium. The latest USA TODAY/ American Hockey Magazine Women's Hockey poll lists the Bulldogs at number one, and have held that place since the season's beginning in October. UMD is currently tied for fourth place in the WCHA conference. Maria Rooth leads the Bulldogs in points, totaling 2-3-5 on the season.
