U.S. Women's Select Team Defeats Rival Canada 2-0

The 2003 United States Women's Select Team defeated Canada, 2-0, in the second game for both teams at the 2003 Four Nations Cup. One of the goals scored for the U.S. was on its own power-play by former Brown forward Katie King (Salem, N.H.). Pam Dreyer(Eagle River, Alaska), former goaltender at Brown, had 27 saves in the game to get her first victory and shutout in her senior national team debut.

In the first period, both teams were kept scoreless as Dreyer turned aside 13 shots. In the second period with the U.S. skating on its own power play, King finally broke the scoreless tie at 13:36 to put the U.S. on the board.

Team USA will next face Sweden in its final round-robin game on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
