Providence, RI - Brown junior assistant captain Nicole Stock (Buffalo Grove, IL) was named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week on Monday. Stock made 72 saves on 77 shots in games against Yale and #8 Connecticut.
On Saturday, Stock made 34 saves against the Bulldogs, allowing just one even-strength goal. She recorded at least 10 saves in each period of the contest. She followed that performance up with an even better one against UConn, helping take the Bears into overtime against the ranked Huskies by making 38 saves, including three big ones in overtime.
Through four games, Stock has amassed a 1.98 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage. She is the first Brown goaltender to start the team's first four games since the 2003-04 season, when Katie Germain '04 started Brown's first 22 games.
This is the third time Stock has been named Goaltender of the Week. She earned the honor twice last season.
