Providence, RI - The Brown University women's ice hockey team has announced its schedule for the 2004-05 season. The Bears are slated to play 29 regular season games, highlighted by a two-game road series with defending National Champion Minnesota.
The puck will drop on Oct. 29 at Maine. Brown has not played at Maine since the 2000-01 season. Last year, the Brown Bears knocked off the Black Bears 1-0 in the season opener at Meehan Auditorium. The tenth annual Mayor's Cup returns to Meehan Auditorium this year on Saturday, Nov. 27. Ivy League rivals Harvard and Dartmouth also return to the schedule as does ECAC foe St. Lawrence. Clarkson joins the ECAC conference this season as Head Coach Digit Murphy's team will play the Golden Knights for the first team since the 1983-84 season on Nov. 19.
This will be Brown's 41st season. The Bears closed out the 2003-04 season ranked ninth in the nation with an 18-11-2 overall and 12-5-1 conference record.
