Moos Earns Rookie of the Year

Freshman Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN), a member of the women's soccer and women's hockey teams, was named the Kate Silver Award winner, given to the outstanding first-year varsity female athlete.
Moos, who is Brown's first Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year since Bekah Splaine '01 in 1998, led the Bears with nine goals, including a league-leading seven goals in Ivy contests. A three-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week and one-time Player of the Week Moos is Brown's first 20-point scorer since 2000. Moos was also recognized as an Honorable Mention All-Ivy selection.
Moos was the 9th leading scorer on the Bears' hockey team this season with 9 goals and 4 assists in 28 games. She earned Rookie of the Week honors for her game winning goals against Cornell and Colgate in ECAC action. She leads the Bears' in game winning goals with four. In the conference, Moos was ranked 5th in game-winning goals with three, and 12th for freshman scoring. She is also ranked in the top 20 of the nation for her game wining goals.
