The Brown women's hockey team has advanced to the ECAC Final Four for the third straight year after sweeping Princeton in the Quarterfinals last weekend. The Bears will face top-seeded Harvard in the semifinal match on Saturday at 1 p.m. The winner of the game will advance to the Championship game on Sunday taking on the winner of the Dartmouth/St. Lawrence match-up. All games will be broadcast on Comcast Channel 8.
In the quarterfinal round, the Bears came back from a 2-0 deficit with under nine minutes remaining in game two, to win 3-2 in overtime to defeat Princeton two games to none in the best-of-three quarterfinal series at Meehan Auditorium. Brown downed Princeton 2-1 on Friday to setup the dramatic win and sweep on Saturday.
The Bears lead the Series with Harvard 26-22-3, but dropped both games to the Crimson earlier this season. Brown's last win over Harvard came in the 2001-2002 season when the Bears won, 3-1. The two teams met last year in the ECAC semi-final round and Harvard defeated Brown 10-3.
