Brown Women's Hockey Gears Up for ECAC Semifinal Round

Brown qualified for the semifinal round after defeating Yale twice over at Meehan Auditorium on March 8 and 9 in the quarterfinal round. Brown put on a tremendous offensive display in both games, shutting out the Bulldogs and scoring a combined 12 goals in the two games.
Brown holds a 11-6-0 record in ECAC Tournament play, and have been upset by lower seeded teams four times. Seeded first in 1994-1995, Brown lost in the quarterfinal round to 8th seeded St. Lawrence, seeded first again, Brown lost to 4th seeded Providence 4-2 in the semifinals in 1995-1996, again in first, Brown dropped a 201 game to (4) Northeastern in 1996-1997 in the semifinals, and in 1998-1999, 6th seeded Dartmouth upset 3rd-seeded Brown by blanking the Bears 3-0 in quarterfinal action.
Brown has captured the ECAC Title in both the 1997-1998 and 1999-2000 seasons. During the 1997-1998 season, the Bears defeated top seeded New Hampshire, 4-3, while the second Title crown came after defeating Niagara, Northeastern, and Dartmouth.
