PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's ice hockey ECAC Quarterfinal games and the Brown women's ice hockey ECAC Final Four games will all be broadcast this weekend on WOON 1240AM and on the internet, at www.brownbears.com.
Under the direction of head coach Roger Grillo, the men's team has advanced to the ECAC Quarterfinals at Yale by virtue of their two-game sweep of Princeton in First Round action last weekend. Looking to secure their first trip to the ECAC Final Four since 1994, the Bears will face the Bulldogs in a best-of-three series at Yale's Ingalls Rink, Friday, March, 14, Saturday, March 15, and if necessary, Sunday, March 16. All games begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be called my Mike Rubin and Jack Shamshoian.
Under the direction of head coach Digit Murphy, the women's team has advanced to the ECAC Final Four, hosted by Brown at Meehan Auditorium. The Bears upset fourth-seeded St. Lawrence last weekend in Canton, NY, two games to one, in their best-of-three quarterfinal series. The defending ECAC Tournament Champion, Brown will face top-seeded Harvard, ranked #1 in the country, Saturday, March 15, at 12:00 noon. If the Bears win, the 2003 Championship game will also be broadcast, Sunday afternoon, March 16. In addition to hearing the game on WOON, as called by Mike Rubin and Mike Mancuso, the game can also be seen live on NESN. The puck drops at 12:08 p.m.
