Providence, RI - The women's ice hockey team will travel to Canton, NY for this year's ECACHL Final Four Tournament, taking on Princeton University in the semi-finals on Saturday, March 11 at 4:00 p.m. The winner of the match-up will face the winner of the St. Lawrence/Harvard game in the Championship on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Crimson and Saints will face-off at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
The Bears, who earned the #3 seed, swept sixth seeded Dartmouth last weekend, dispatching the Big Green 4-2 and 3-0. Brown was anchored by the goaltending tandem of sophomore O'Hara Shipe and freshman Nicole Stock, who shut out Dartmouth Saturday afternoon. Seniors Keaton Zucker and Margaret Ramsay led Brown, each posting two goal games, as Zucker tallied two goals and an assist Friday and Ramsay had her own two-goal performance Saturday.
Brown and Princeton split the season series, each winning in their home arena, as Brown upset the seventh ranked Tigers 4-3 in January, but fell to Princeton two weeks ago 3-2 in New Jersey. All-time Princeton has 30-29-1 edge over the Bears, but under head coach Digit Murphy Brown has gone 22-14 in the past sixteen seasons.
You can catch all the action on Brown internet radio, as Mike Rubin and Mike Mancuso call the game from Appleton Arena.
