Shipe Earns Goalie Of The Week Honors

Freshman goaltender O'Hara Shipe (Anchorage, AK) earned ECACHL Goaltneder of the Week Honoros (2/28) for her two wins this weekend, in the Bear's sweep of Vermont and #3 Dartmouth. Shipe is currently 8-5-0, when taking the ice the best among Brown's young goaltending core.

The young frosh recorded her first career shut out blanking Vermont 3-0 on Friday. In that game Shipe turned away all five shots that came toward Brown's net earning the shutout. Shipe also shown she is able to play in big games, recording her first win against a top ten opponent on Saturday, when the Bears stunned #3 Dartmouth 3-1. Throughout the game Shipe was tested by the powerful Big Green offense and rose to the occasion time after time shutting out the #2 ranked offense in the conference for the first forty minutes of play. Shipe was flawless until 10:05, in the final period when the Big Green finally got on the board and broke Shipe's second consecutive shutout. Shipe has earned a 8-5-0 record and is now ranked third among goal minders in the conference for save percentage recording a .922.

Also receiving ECACHL honors was junior Lindsey Glennon (Exter, NH) and freshman Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA) each earning Honor Roll for their performances this past weekend.

The Bears will travel to Canton, NY for the ECACHL quaterfinal best of three series with St. Lawrence. The Bears and Saints will face-off Friday March 4, at 3:30, Saturday March 5, at 2:00 and if necessary Sunday March 6 at 2:0
