Women's Ice Hockey Set To Host ECACHL Quarterfinal Series Against Dartmouth

Feb. 27, 2006

Providence, RI - The women's ice hockey team sealed up the third seed on a 3-3 tie with Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon, giving the Bears home ice in the opening round of the ECACHL playoffs this upcoming weekend. Brown will take on the sixth seeded Big Green of Dartmouth College in a best of three series beginning this Friday at 7:00 p.m. Game two will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. while game three if necessary will take place on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

The Bears have shut out and tied the Big Green this season, handing Dartmouth a 2-0 loss in November, and came back from three down in the final period in the 3-3 tie earlier this month. In the all-time series Brown and Dartmouth have each won 26 games and skated to eight ties. When playing on their home ice the Bears have been tough to beat, going 5-3-1 against conference foes and have upset three top ten teams this season.

Coming off an explosive five point weekend senior Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) and the rest of the Bears will keep the Big Green looking for a victory as Brown has remained unbeaten in its last three meetings with Dartmouth, going 2-0-1.
