Brown came into this past weekend looking to extend their eight-game winning streak and to move closer to first place in the ECAC North. Led by Kristy Zamora, the Bears took all four league points, beating Vermont 3-0 and No. 5 Dartmouth 5-3 to take sole possesion of first place in the league. On Friday, as the Bears were killing a penalty late in a scoreless first period, Zamora banged home a shorthanded tally that would be the gamewinner. On Saturday, she once again sparked her team into action, finding the back of the net with less than two minutes to go in the first period. In the third, Zamora setup Kerry Nugent for the gamewinning goal before adding insurance with an empty net goal. Zamora, a senior from Oshawa, Ontario, is tied for the league lead in game-winning goals with four and is tied for 3rd in overall points and goals (24-13-37).
