Providence, RI - After likely finishing her climb up Brown's all-time point scorers list, Brown women's ice hockey senior captain Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA) has been named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week. Moore had five points in two games this past weekend, scoring two goals and three assists against Quinnipiac and Princeton.
On Friday night, Moore continued to have immense success against Quinnipiac, factoring in all four Brown goals by scoring one herself and assisting the other three in a 5-4 Brown loss. The four points give her 18 in her six career games against the Bobcats on 10 goals and eight assists. She also tied career highs with the four points and three assists. The following day, she scored just 2:24 into the game with the Tigers, accounting for half of the Bears' total in a 2-2 tie.
Moore has at least a point in 14 of her last 16 games (11-13-24) after tallying just one goal in Brown's first eight contests. She either leads the Bears or is tied for the team lead in points (25), goals (12), assists (13), and power-play goals (4).
Over the weekend, Moore passed Kim Insalaco '03, Jill Graat '00, and Becky Kellar '97 on Brown's career points list to move into eighth all-time with 130 points (68g, 62a). She will finish her career in that spot, as Jordan Jiskra '00 is seventh with 147 points, likely unattainable for Moore with four games remaining. The Brown captain also is eighth all-time in goals, needing four more to tie Kristy Zamora '02 for seventh all-time.
