Bears Look To Move Up Two Spots In ECAC With Weekend Sweep Over St. Lawrence

Brown (7-7-3): The Bears will look for their third straight win over the Saints on Friday. The two split the regular season series a year ago. Brown defeated the Saints 3-1 in the ECAC Semifinals as it made it all the way to the 2002 NCAA Frozen Four Championship game. The Bears came away with a 7-2 win Saturday afternoon at Yale. The Bears dominated play, out-shooting the Bulldogs 51-21 in their 31st straight win over Yale. Sophomore Jessica Link, the ECAC Player of the Week, leads Brown with 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points, including seven in three games last week. Freshman Karen Thatcher, who also tallied seven points last week, leads the Bears with 11 assists and is second with 16 points.

St. Lawrence (12-5-2): The Saints come to Brown ranked sixth in the country. The team swept Connecticut last weekend in a two-game series. Shannon Smith scored two goals in the first 6:19 as the Saints defeated Connecticut 7-0 on Saturday. Five different players scored goals to lead the Saints to a 5-1 win over the Huskies on Friday. Shannon Smith leads the Saints with eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points.
