Brown Falls to St. Lawrence, 3-2

Dec. 2, 2001

Both teams came out flying, creating numerous scoring chances at both ends. Katie Germain (Sarnia, ONT) stopped 12 shots fired at her in the first epriod. Despite Germain's efforts, the Saints were able to find the back of the net at the 18:27 mark, as sophomore Sara Simard scored her third goal of the season.

During the second stanza, the Bears again put the pressure on the Saints defense, forcing SLU's goaltender to make nine saves in the period. Yet, Brown was unable to come up with a goal.

Sophomore Krissy McManus took control of the early minutes of the third period, scoring two goals at the 1:24 and 2:29 marks of the period. On the first goal, sophomore Sarah Crowley slid the puck to McManus for Brown's first score of the night. McManus gave the Bears the lead at the 2:29 mark, when Meredith Ostarnder (Prescott, ONT) assisted on the goal.

St. Lawrence evened the score at 2-2, when Amanda Sargeant scored at the 8:37 mark of the third. Vicky Hauck got the game-winner at 18:04 of the period, making the final score, 3-2.
