Providence, RI - The Bears (6-4-0, 3-2-0) bounced back from a tough week last week, getting a 6-1 victory over Northeastern this evening at the Meehan Auditorium. Senior Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) collected three points in tonight's victory, netting two goals and dishing out an assist.

The Bears came out of the tunnel fired up and ready to play. Off the first face-off they made crisp, clean passes and skated down every loose puck. Junior Myria Heinhuis (Chatham, ONT) got the scoring brigade under way, netting her fourth goal of the season, 1:23 into the game. Senior Katie Guay (Westfield, MA) recorded her first of two assists on the goal. Ten minutes later McManus got her first of two goals when she received a pass from junior Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) and slid it past the goal line, to give Brown a two goal lead. With less than four minutes remaining in the first period, the Bears had a man advantage and put heavy pressure on the Huskies' penalty kill. McManus and Moos teamed up again, with tic-tac-toe passing the Bears struck again pushing the lead to three goals going into the first intermission. Senior Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) received a pass from McManus and slammed it past Huskies' goaltender Marisa Hourihan for the Bears first power-play goal of the game.

Heinhuis recorded her second goal of the game with just under three minutes into the second period. Nugent passed the puck to Heinhuis at the point, where Heinhuis teed it up and shot a rocket over the left shoulder of Hourihan padding Brown's lead. The Huskies would finally get on the board with under a minute left in the second period to cut the lead to three. But that's all Northeastern would get past sophomore Marie-Pier Desbiens (Bolton-Est, QC), who was solid in net making fifteen saves in her third win of the season.

Off a draw in the third period, in the Bears' zone, Zucker took the puck and passed it to junior Lindsey Glennon (Exter, NH) who was skating along the right side boards. Glennon skated past the Huskies' blueline, and snapped a hard slap shot past Northeastern goaltender for her first goal of the season and the Bears' second power play goal of the game. McManus would tack on another goal with under a minute left to push the lead to five, giving the Bears a 6-1 victory.

Brown will take on Providence College Saturday, November 27, for the 10th Annual Mayor's Cup at the Meehan Auditorium for a 7:00 start.
