The Brown University women's ice hockey team (2-3-0, 0-0-0) defeated Quinnipiac 10-1, (3-8-0), in Hamden, CT. on Tuesday night. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Bears.
Freshman Christine Holdredge (Ashley Falls, MA) got the Bears on the board in the first with a goal at the 7:55 mark. Freshman Krystal Strassman (Madison, WI) had the assist on the play. Brown continued to dominate in the first, scoring four more goals to give themselves a 5-0 lead over the Bobcats. Junior Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) scored on a powerplay at 9:39 and junior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) notched her first goal of the season at 16:38. Sophomore Lindsay Glennon and Keaton Zucker also added goals in the first for the Bears.
Link added her second goal of the game at the 6:18 mark in the second. Sophomore Margaret Ramsay had the assist on the play. Freshman Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN) scored her first goal of the season to give the Bears a 7-0 lead in the second.
Zucker led the Bears in the third with two consecutive goals to earn her first hat trick of the season. Sophomore Larissa Ezzio and senior Marguerite McDonald scored their first goals of the season at the 9:07 and 14:09 mark in the third.
Senior goaltender Katie Germain (Sarnia, ONT) stopped 11 shots for the Bears.
Brown returns to action Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. when it faces New Hampshire at Meehan Auditorium.
