Women's Icers Skate to 2-2 Tie Against #1Minnesota-Duluth

The Bears put the pressure on the UMD defense, as sophomore Krissy McManus created some quick scoring chances.

McManus lit up the scoreboard at the 14:56 mark, when she received the puck from Meredith Ostrander, tying the score at 1-1. The goal was McManus' second of the season.

Neither team found the back of the net in the second stanza, making the game tied at 1-1 entering the third and final period.

The Bears began the third period a with one man advantage, as UMD's Larissa Luther was penalized with a Game Misconduct penalty in the final two minutes of the second. At the 2:05 mark of the third period, UMD was charged with a two minute checking penalty, giving Brown a two man advantage. The Bears were unable to capitalize on either power play.

UMD made the score 2-1, when Jessi Flink collected a loose puck in front of the net, and slid it past Brown's Pam Dreyer, at the 10:08 mark of the third.

Six minutes after Flink's goal, senior captain, Kristy Zamora would finish a 2 on 1 break to tie the score at 2-2 and send the game into overtime. The overtime period was scoreless, ending the contest in a 2-2 tie.

Junior Pam Dreyer was outstanding on the afternoon, recording 31 saves on the game.

The Bears travel to Harvard on Saturday November 24 for a 2:00pm game.
