Brown Falls To Gophers. 3-2 in Women's Ice Hockey Action

The Gophers got on the scoreboard early when Tracy Engstrom scored to make the score 1-0 in favor of Minnesota.

Brown's first goal came at the 5:36 mark of the second period, when senior captain Kristy Zamora recorded her third goal of the season. Freshman Amy McLaughlin gave the Bears the lead, when she scored at the13:24 point of the second stanza. The goal was McLaughlin's second of the season.

Brown failed to hold onto the lead, allowing two goals in the final five minutes of the second and making the final score 3-2.

Sophomore Katie Germain recorded 20 saves on the afternoon, with nine coming in the third and final period.

Brown returns to action on Sunday afternoon, where the Bears will host #1 Minnesota-Duluth at 2:00pm.
