Women's Ice Hockey Drops 5-1, To #4 Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN - The Bears (3-2-0) could not hold off the late game surge of the Gophers, falling 5-1 to the defending National Champions. The Bears were up 1-0 at the end of the opening period, but the Gophers went on to score five unanswered goals in this afternoon's loss.
Sophomore Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA) opened up the scoring, with 11:03 to go in the first, when she snuck shot past the Gopher's goal minder for the early one goal lead. Senior Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) and freshman Frances Male (Toronto, ONT) picked up the assists on Moore's goal.
The Bears could not overcome Minnesota's offensive onslaught in the second and third periods, as the Gopher's scored five goals. Sophomore O'Hara Shipe (Anchorage, AK) finished the game with 28 saves, as Minnesota out shot the Bears 33-19.
Brown will look to rebound after today's loss, tomorrow afternoon as they return to Ridder Arena for a 1:07 PM (CT) face-off with the Gophers.
